***Donates fund for transformer repairs
The Member Representing Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Umanah has charged the youths of Offot Village to be more vigilant on Vandals of transformers in Offot Village and Abak LGA in general.
Umanah gave the charge on Monday while addressing a cross section of youth leaders at the resident of the Chairman, Abak Urban Ward 3 elders’ forum, Elder Jonah Udoekpo, when presenting a check to the Elders’ Chairman for repairs of vandalized transformer in the community.
The Federal Lawmaker said he responded to the distress call of the youths and elders of the community lamenting the poor condition of power supply and high level of total darkness in the community for more than two years now, therefore urged the youths to exercise zero tolerance for transformer vandals in the community.
Reacting to the magnanimity, elder Udoekpo commended the Federal Lawmaker for his swift reaction towards the cry of Offot people in restoring power supply to the community.
The President, Abak Clan Youth Council, Comrade Uduak Udoekpo and his Offot village counterpart, comrade Abasifiok Anietie George said; the youths are pleased with the leadership strides of the lawmaker and promised to tighten up local security around the community for the safety of the repaired transformer.
