The Akwa Ibom State Government has charged resident’s and commuters to show understanding and Patience given the current but temporary inconveniences they are facing following the diversion of traffic from Olusegun obasanjo Way and Abak Road Road .
Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen made the appeal when he led officials of the Ministry to oversee the demolition exercise at the Abak Road axis, in furtherance of the construction of the ongoing Ikot Oku Ikono junction Fly Over.
Commissioner Inyangeyen who expressed delight at the enthusiasm the people demonstrated in support of the ongoing construction again restated the desire of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel to deflate traffic build up along this very busy road as part of his urban infrastructure expansion programme.
The Akwa Ibom State Works helmsman assured that the project will be given priority attention because of its importance to the entire state. According to him, “This project will be delivered on schedule and we continue to plead for understanding from the people for the current inconveniences diversion of traffic from the roads linking up this area.
In a related development, Commissioner Inyangeyen also supervised demolition exercise at the Okon Eket area of the ongoing dualization of the Eket- Etinan Road. He commended the dispatch with which, property owners who received compensation vacated the marked structures, observing that, this gestures helps fast rack progress of the road project.
