Is Igini also behind Nsima Ekere’s flaws at the tribunal?
It has now become a norm for the APC to mention Igini’s name everyday or week (to be moderate).
Categorically, Igini has become the food they eat, the water they drink and the air they breathe hence, the reason for their unabated false reports, press releases and conference meetings; all aimed at painting the State REC in bad light. Why? Because Igini did not condescend to their wishes.
I wonder whether it is Igini that is making them to commit the wanton of legal blunders at the tribunals. Akwa Ibom APC thinks that their activities at the election petition tribunal are newsworthy and short of being void, at this point my sympathy is to the Judges who Nsima Ekere have just wasted their time to listen to the comedy show of the APC in the name of challenging the outcome the election.
It is a pity that their legal team started malfunctioning maybe due to series of confusion they encountered. One could wonder why one of their legal counsels Prof. Ernest Ojukwu has constantly abused the order of the tribunal by faulting the time allotted to both the star and the other witnesses, also before one gets any document from the tribunal for cross-examination, the counsel must make an open demand for it verbally. In this case the APC legal counsel went through the registry secretly to demand for those materials to study and use for cross examination, he was heard saying that he doesn’t have time to go through the materials in court. This shows that they were not prepared.
The face-off between Nsima Ekere and his legal team worsened issues for the APC. One of the issues between Ekere and his lead counsel Okutekpa bothers on financial charges and the lapse between them. Nsima wanted the tribunal to declare him winner of the election having won an acclaimed 28 LGA in the 2019 election but when he contradicted himself on the witness box, he rather said that the entire election be cancelled that he didn’t win in any of the local governments, he later went ahead to fault his lead counsel Okutekpa SAN for not guiding him well, while on the other hand Okutekpa is angry with him for such a disgraceful outing and for talking outside the foundation of their case. Again, is this also caused by Igini?
Whether or not the All Progressives Congress (APC) take it, they remain indebted to Akwa Ibom people regarding some salient points they are yet to disclose to the public.
It is often said that a toad does not move in the day without being chased by something thus, the Akwa Ibom APC, I believe, is not fretting at nothing in its entirety.
It started with the allegation that Igini is working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the report that he employed PDP members as adhoc staff for the election. Then they said he denied them access to election materials and next, that Igini ordered them not to step into the INEC’s premises, how Igini ordered that Akpabio’s votes be cut and etc.
Of course, all of these are untrue! So, what are they up to which they are not saying?
I think what Nsima Ekere’s should do now is not the sponsor people to attack Igini but he should just take a break to save himself of this shame.
Its unfortunate that Akwa Ibom APC are still ignorant about the issue of national interest particularly the “INEC server” that before the 2019 general election INEC had made proposal to transmit result electronically which the subjected funds for it which was sent to the Senate as a supplementary budget, it was thereafter approved, it was on that point the chairman of INEC and REC’s took to their different States to do awareness. In fact the controversy on whether or not INEC’s server was deployed for the 2019 election lingers at the presidential election tribunal of which the APC governorship candidate in Akwa lbom, Nsima Ekere under cross examination said that he came to a conclusion that he won the election from data he got from INEC’s server, the big question is, which server is he talking about? If not the server Akwa Ibom APC is shamelessly displaying ignorant.
Why this constant abuse on Igini if not that there is something they are not tell Akwa Ibom. Akwa Ibom APC has not told us how and why they invited Igini to meet with them abroad.
They have not told us also, how and why they sent different categories of people to beg Igini to allow them rig the elections.
They have not said how and why they threatened to bomb Igini’s car.
I’m still asking whether it is Igini that made them to fumble at the tribunal, as I write Nsima Ekere and the APC has refused to present the documents they claimed they got from INEC as exhibits before the tribunal. This is because they cannot defend it. If these documents are as mountainous as they claim it is, why is it difficult for them to tender it as exhibits before the tribunal? They rather heap it at the backyard of the tribunal. The people can now see that the whole process is a joke and that they want to use it to get favour of safe landing at the federal level.
Worse is that the APC counsel is using these materials untendered to cross-examine some of the witnesses of the PDP. Whereas, the tribunal judge had ruled that what was not tendered before the court cannot be used as exhibit and that they are not recorded as part of the proceedings. But the petitioner’s counsel used and keeps using the untendered exhibits during cross-examination, as exhibits.
Besides, the first serious minus for an election petitioner is his inability or failure to call sufficient witnesses to substantiate his allegations as well all know, witnesses called by Nsima Ekere were either fake or jittering during cross examination perhaps Igini is the cause.
I think before planning to challenge the outcome of the election, they should have made adequate preparation and aside that explained why they were angry when INEC cancelled their private polling units Akpabio wanted to use and rig the election.
Lastly, they have not said a thing about where they got the result sheets and ballot papers with which they wrote results from their homes.
Until the APC comes out open to clear the air on their hidden interests, their incessant musings will remain a cry for help and pity.
As for Igini, the son of man, he has and will continue to remain in his honor.
