Gov Emmanuel to partner A’Ibom NUJ in the realization of his completion agenda
Today, the Snr. Special Assistant to the Governor on Media/Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh played host to the new leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in Akwa Ibom State at the Government House Press Centre.
Receiving the NUJ exco, the Governor’s spokesperson, Mr. Udoh who congratulated Comrade Etuk and members of his team on their successful election, pledged the readiness of the state government to partner the union in the development of the state. Describing Governor Udom Emmanuel as media friendly, the Chief Press Secretary tasked the new NUJ leadership on the need to close ranks and calm what he described as frayed nerves in the union.
He noted that since election matters in the union have been concluded, there was need for any aggrieved member of the union to sheathe their sword in the overall good of the union and the state as a whole.
The CPS cautioned members of the pen profession against conducts which are capable of de- marketing the state.
“There is need to close ranks. There is nothing like system. It is an imaginary construct. Election has come and gone. You have to talk to your colleagues to calm frayed nerves.
Let us no de-market our state”.
Earlier, the new NUJ boss, Comrade Amos Etuk pledged the readiness of the union to work in synergy the state government in advancing the interest of the state. He assured that his leadership was ready to partner Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration in ensuring that he realizes his completion agenda for Akwa Ibom people.
Present during the meeting were, members of the Governor’s media team including, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Mr. Essien Ndueso, Special Assistant on Local Media, Mr. Emmanuel Sam, Personal Assistant on ICT, Engr. Solomon Eyo, and Mr. Aniefiok Macauley
The NUJ Chairman was accompanied on the visit by the Vice-Chairman of the Union, Mrs. Nene Afia, NAWOJ President, Mrs. Uduak Ekong, Secretary of the union, Mr. Dominic Akpan, Assistant Secretary, Mfon Hanson, Treasurer, Imaikop Robert, Financial Secretary, Emmanuel Silas, Auditor, Anietie Esu, Akpan, and SWAN Chairman, Solomon Bassey.
