Chief Executive Officer of the foremost hospitality outfit, Macaire Resort and Macaire Group of Companies, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, has given assurances of utmost performance and good governance if elected to serve and represent the people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas in the House of Representatives.
Obong Ukpong-Udo made this promise, on Friday in Uyo while declaring his intention to vie for the Ikono/INI Federal Cons Constituency seat to a gathering of friends, associates and stakeholders of the areas and also informing them that he has duly purchased his nomination form.
Speaking, Obong Ukpong-Udo, a philanthropist and leading aspirant to the Ikono/INI Federal seat, said that he would not castigate or criticize any of the contestants but to present himself for assessment by the electorate.
He also promised to join hands with Governor Udom Emmanuel and work for the overall development of the state and his federal constituency.
Obong Ukpong-Udo described legislative representation as ‘serious business’ that requires a committed and grassroots person who will champion the welfare of his constituents and also contribute to national development of which he is qualified for.
He thanked friends, associates and stakeholders of the areas for their show of love, support and commitment to his aspiration, which he described as “the collective interest of the people.”
Also speaking, Barrister Inyangidim described the aspirant as a philanthropist and said the gathering was a “signal that the Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo is truly a man of the people.”
He said “gone are the days where few people would just sit and handpick a candidate. I am happy that our aspirant, who will eventually become the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), credible, popular, accessible and someone that has the wherewithal to win election.”
