Former American Ambassador to the United Nations and former Mayor of Atlanta, Amb. Andrew Young has urged leaders not to fear and despair in the face of challenges but to rise to the occasion by taking a problem and turning it into profit. He cited many examples from his personal encounters as Mayor of the city of Atlanta, where he converted the many problems that faced the city into the profits being enjoyed today.
He said this while speaking to the 2017 Governmental Leadership: Politics, Communication and Influence class at the Andrew Young school, Centre for State and Local Finance, Georgia State University,Atlanta.
This course seeks to build leadership skills and capacity in her participants drawn from divesrese backgrounds who are serving in top or mid level management positions in their careers.
The participants also had the opportunity to learn from Amb.David Adelman- fmr American Ambassador to Singapore and Dr. John Thomas .
At the close of training, the participants made a final presenafion which was assessed by a panel with Hon. Stephen Louis Dillard- Chief judge Georgia court of Appeals and Kate Pfirman-dep. Commissioner Georgia department of community health as members.
