Part 1 of this article examines the fundamental imperatives of how believers in Nigeria have joined the multitudes in overlooking how God rules the nations of the world. And how He expects believers to pursue the agenda of the Kingdom of God in any nation where they are planted. It also posits that, in the camp of many believers, the voice of a rumbling belly is fast becoming louder than the voice of God’s purpose for the nation of Nigeria. To understand the conclusion drawn in this Part 2, please read the important background in Part 1 FIRST. It is available on this link – bit.ly/2gknDEt )
There are two very clear ways that the army of religious ‘born again’ Christians are killing the prophetic destiny of Nigeria today. First, by not praying earnestly for President Buhari, we are depriving heaven the resource they need to work in Nigeria to fulfil God’s purpose for the nation. We all know that heaven works in response to the prayers of man – particularly, earnest prayers. How many Nigerian believers are truly and earnestly praying for President Buhari today? Praying that God will fill him with wisdom and understanding? Praying that God will surround him with able associates that can move the nation forward? Praying that God will protect him from the backlash of the fury of the locusts that he is attempting to drive away? Praying for good health and sound mind for him? How many are truly praying like this with all their hearts for President Buhari on a daily basis? Very few indeed (and may God reward their steadfastness and faithfulness).
The second point is even more dangerous. And only spiritually matured people will understand this point. The ‘human spirit’ of multitudes of Christians are vigorously fighting daily against the president. And against the success of his tenure. This is a potent spiritual force that has been battling against the president, right from his first day in office.
This ‘poison’ emanates from the millions of believers whose minds had been poisoned against President Buhari through the satanic prophecy that former President Jonathan was God’s choice for the office in 2015. Well, PMB emerged victorious. The ‘god’ of that prophecy, as well as his prophecy, were defeated. And most believers in this group never forgave PMB for their own error in believing a lie! They never forgave him for defeating ‘God’s candidate’! Can you imagine the absurdity? And it is for this reason that their ‘human spirit’, a very potent spiritual force, fights against PMB every single day.
The fight of the ‘human spirit’ is like a silent curse. It generates a dark energy that empowers Satan against the victim of the attack. (To understand the huge potency of the battle of the ‘human spirit’, please study 2 Samuel 21:1-14 with understanding. The ‘human spirit’ of the Gibeonites battled the Israelites to a complete standstill, and there was nothing the Israelites could do until the Gibeonites were appeased. That is the power of the ‘human spirit’). And this is a power-force that many Christians are UNKNOWINGLY unleashing on the president.
And this disillusioned army of believers is now swelling daily with the huge number of turncoat ‘apostles of change’ that are losing their focus, and turning their backs on the president.
Now, here is the DANGER. The enormous NEGATIVE spiritual energy that is flowing from this group towards PMB is providing a spiritual atmosphere for the devil to thrive in frustrating PMB. In addition, if PMB truly has an ulterior motive of an Islamic agenda for Nigeria, this negative spiritual atmosphere provides the perfect environment to breed and execute such a plan. For in the darkness generated by this spiritual atmosphere, anything can happen!
In darkness, Satan’s purpose will triumph, and God’s purpose will be hindered. This is a spiritual law that cannot be violated. This is one of the reasons Jesus was emphatic that believers must NOT curse, but bless. Curses generate a spiritual atmosphere of darkness that causes the devil’s will to be done. On the other hand, blessing generates a spiritual atmosphere of light that causes God’s will to be done. These are eternal spiritual realities that will NEVER change. God’s way of dealing with this issue was to send Jesus Christ as the LIGHT of the world. God’s purpose advances in the atmosphere of light. His word brings light. And when we obey His word, an atmosphere of light is created that EMPOWERS angelic forces to advance the will of God on earth.
This is the spiritual understanding that Nigerian believers need; so that they can begin to truly and effectively OCCUPY Nigeria for Christ. The understanding that leads to unquestioning obedience to the word of God. The understanding that leads us to realise that TALK IS VERY CHEAP! Anybody can talk. On social media, anybody can analyse WHY and HOW PMB is failing – for TALK IS CHEAP. But the truly spiritual person is the man or woman that will quietly go into the heavenlies to tackle and CHANGE the situation. For change does NOT start in the physical realm, it starts from the spiritual realm. Until the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that attempt to build the house (Psalm 127:1).
There is something else that indicates the level of apathy of the generality of Nigerian believers in fighting for God’s purpose in Nigeria. Recently, Reuben Abati, who was close to the seat of the Nigerian government, came out openly to talk about the dark, sinister spiritual forces that were operating freely in the seat of government. He spoke about the mysterious deaths, about inexplicable maiming, and about the demonic oppression of the people in government by dark powers. He drew clear-cut patterns that could be verified. In essence, Abati’s words describe to us in techni-colour what we already know from passages like Ephesians 6:12, etc. The battle is NOT physical. We wrestle against the rulers of darkness and against spiritual wickedness in high places.
These are the real forces that are holding us down as a nation! Our problem is not just a failure of leadership, or a paucity of competence. These are but mere symptoms of a much deeper malaise. The results of the handiwork of the dark forces that are marauding in our corridor of power to steal, kill, and destroy the soul of the nation.
One would have thought Abati’s words would remind us of the urgent need to rush back to the place of prayers to sanitise the seat of our government, and to uphold the occupants in streaming intercession. But, generally speaking, this has not been the case. For a few days, most of us were struck and shocked by the Abati revelation. But soon, we slid back to our state of apathy, and many intensified their daily grumblings against the government. Does grumbling chase away demons? Can human philosophy destroy the satanic network that is holding the nation to ransom?
Brethren, there is work to do on our knees in enforcing the mandate that Christ won at Calvary, so that the will of the Lord will be done in Nigeria as the Father has purposed. There is an urgent need to keep our focus on God’s purpose – not on what we see with the physical eyes. Not on the rumbling of our belly. This is the real work, and the real test of the true believer in Nigeria at this time.
The present economic recession in the country is a HUGE PROBLEM. But to the wise at heart, it also presents HUGE OPPORTUNITIES. It is can serve as an impetus to drive us back to the place of prayer, in humility and contriteness of heart, to call on God to fulfil His purpose for Nigeria. And to give us the pure Gospel of Christ that we can take all over the world as we prepare for the return of the Lord.
The recession also gives us the opportunity to practice the words of Christ – in reaching out to our needy neighbours. In giving out a jacket to our neighbours when we have two jackets. In joyfully sharing what we have with our needy neighbours in the goodwill of the Christmas season.
This is how the present recession is a unique opportunity that can fill our nation with LIGHT. And with the love of Jesus Christ. And then heaven will begin to work more intensely on our behalf. This is how Nigeria will advance. Please stop comparing Nigeria with other nations that do not have a glorious prophetic destiny as we have. Nigeria is NOT Singapore. Nigeria is NOT Dubai.
In addition, please stop looking PRIMARILY at Buhari for the solution to Nigeria’s problem. What can a 70-something year old man do to turn around a country that is steeped in shameful corruption at almost ALL levels of society – even in the church of God??? Buhari cannot do much. But our God can use him as a tool for His purpose and His glory. In this quest, it is completely immaterial that PMB is a Muslim. God can use ANYTHING and ANYBODY to achieve His purpose. If we truly believe that our God is as powerful as we claim, we ought to know that He can convert Buhari into a disciple of Jesus Christ in the twinkle of an eye – if He so desires.
Your God-given duty is to primarily PRAY. Until you get actively involved in this duty, you may be working for the devil in Nigeria. For he that does not gather with the Master is actually SCATTERING (Matthew 12:30).
Please let us put off the garb of religiosity. Please REPENT, and allow Christ to make you a truly spiritual man or woman that understands the mind of God for the hour, for the location, for Nigeria. Therein lies your reward in due course. For we shall ALL reap what we are today sowing into the destiny of Nigeria. Our children will also reap the seeds we are sowing. And their children too – if Christ tarries.
Please pause RIGHT NOW to send an earnest word of heartfelt blessing towards President Muhammadu Buhari. Then continue to do so every day. Flood Aso Rock with the light of God, and with the love of Christ. When light begins to shine at Aso Rock, darkness will automatically scurry away. And the glory of our nation will rise as we begin to fulfil our prophetic destiny. The rise of Nigeria will mark the rise of the Black Race all over the world. This is HUGE!
Friend, what are you waiting for? Please start praying earnestly. And start NOW!
Thanks for reading, God bless you real good.
